I am a Christian
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin"."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need his strength to carry on.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon his name.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!
Christians are not better than others, we should not judge or criticize. We should love.
amen, sister. love this
ReplyDeleteI found you from a LinkedIn post on oil. I liked your smile so was curious about your personal webpage. As a youth catechist and having spent three years in RCIA (No, I am not a slow learner, it toof the Richmond Diocese and the Vatican a while to figure out how to deal with me), I love your quote. Too many times in RCIA I heard "I am a cradle Catholic" like it was some badge of honor. I would like to share your quote both on our youth group webpage (OLN BOBS on Facebook) and as I am delivering the Proclaim Talk on Nov 6, I will use it then as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks and God Bless you. I pray that you are able to overcome infertility as you obviously have the wonderful makings of a great mother.
