Butt Kicking

OK, so this day kicked my butt. It's totally Monday! And no regular Monday, but a full-on, crazy, overpowering Monday.

The good news is that I survived! OK, well I am PLANNING on surviving. There's about 5 hours before I go to bed and end the day.

While waiting for tomorrow, dinner will look like this:

Yes I'm Am!

Nathan says, "Yes I'm am," all the time. As in, "Yes I'm am a robot, Auntie." Or, "Yes, I'm AM your nephew!!" I think it's just so damn cute.

I decided I'm make a Yes I'm Am list today.

Yes I'm Am...

An Auntie! This seems like a logical place to start seeing as I stole the topic of this post from the 3 year old nephew. And I can prove this by my membership at SavvyAuntie.com!

A dog spoiler. I can't help it- look at that face! I was scolding myself for my lack of will power against Van's pleas last night. I almost always lose. And Katie has already submitted a list of no-nos for when I keep June Bug (It may be my fault she sleeps on furniture...)

A wine drinker! If you're reading this blog, I doubt I need to explain this.

An LSU Football fan! I'm also of the crazy, over the top variety.

A horseback rider! I grew up doing it and have not done much since I lost my horse a few years ago. But I want to get back into it. And I live in the land of the cowboys now, so surely this can't be too hard.

A pirate... three hundred years too late...
If you missed the Jimmy Buffet reference here you are fired from reading my blog. Also, I'm not really a pirate. I am just playing one in this picture because AC is a pirate.

A fisherwoman. I freaking love fishing! And I will kick your ass any day.

A sister! There's no better job.

A Mama's girl

Still a child. I sleep with my rabbit every night.

Also a major Daddy's girl!

Refer back to dog spoiler...

A reader! I always have a book with me. If there's no book in my bag, it's probably not me.

A new resident of The Woodlands, Texas and loving it!

A lover of all things margarita!

A massive T Swift fan

And a Jennifer Nettles (but no so much Rhianna) stalker.

Quite possibly certifiable insane. At the very least completely crazy!

OK, that was fun! what "am" you??

Hugging this a million times...

An definitely this...

And sitting by this!

Most of all, I will be grateful for this...
Because it means that no matter what I am missing, pining for or hurting from- the best is yet to come!!

Holiday Kick-off in Covington

Pics from the weekend trip to Covington!

Pixie in the Driver's Seat

the always-present wine in the glove box of Mama's car

Boutineer I made for Paw Paw to wear in his concert

Getting ready

Pointing out his favorite granddaughter! Hehehehe

This lady is adorable, but I really wanted to know what she had in her clear glass bottle with a cork... this is a Louisiana retirement home, folks. One never knows!

Festive red and green walkers... HA!!

The Christwood Singers

Paw Paw and his girls. How cute is he??

Amount of luggage needed for a one night stay in the retirement home

Day 2: lunch with Aunt Karen!

Lunch's main course ;)

Then TONS of shopping which I was too busy to take pictures during, a stop at one of Mama's best high school friend's houses and a GREAT mother-daughter dinner

Go cup they gave Mama for her wine after our dinner. Gotta love Louisiana!! The straw is really key for a $12 glass of wine ;)

Pixie refusing to be left behind

Pixie's preferred seat on the way home was looking out the window

My favorite conversation of the weekend:

Paw Paw: complaining about his money and having to pay for dinner when he, Uncle Tom and Aunt Karen went out a few nights before (my grandfather has nearly a million dollars in Exxon stock)
Me: Paw Paw, why are you worried about that? You have plenty of money to go out to eat sometimes.
Paw Paw: No, no. I consider that ya'lls money. I just have it for now, but I made it for all of you (awww, so sweet)
Me: Oh, well, I don't mind of you use it for dinner sometimes!

a little while later

Paw Paw: teasing/fussing about giving us all money for Christmas
Me: Paw Paw, I thought you said it was our money. You're just giving us what's ours!
Paw Paw: Yeah, but right now I like to count it every day.

Mama and I bought him an automatic-counting bank for Christmas to save him some time counting his money every day (which he probably does)

Hope your start to the last week before Christmas was a great as mine!

Wine

If you have read even half of a blog post from my blog, you know I'm a total wine-o!
I had a rather tedious and long Board meeting at 7:30am this morning and I have not been able to stop thinking about a nice glass of wine since about Noon. Terrible, isn't it? But maybe not. Ben Franklin himself said that, "Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy."

If you need a little backup in your love for wine, catch up on the Cougar Town episodes and you'll feel in good company. It's completely hilarious and full of wine!

The Gal's Weekend

Mama, Aunt Karen, Aunt Joan and I hit Fairhope this weekend for some major girl time. Aunt Karen is my Uncle's girlfriend, who is almost an exact clone of my mother just with bigger boobs, and Aunt Joan is Mama's best friend from high school and college. I'm the princess- naturally!

We had a ridiculous (and I do mean ridiculous) amount of fun, drank gallons of wine and champagne, shopped, ate and went to the spa. We were all so partied out by Sunday afternoon when we hit the spa that we fell asleep in the quiet room of the spa... with our mimosas!
View from our room

Hanging out by the fire pit

Playing in the trees and Christmas lights!
Aunt Joan double fisting (it's been a reeeeeally long time since she's been on vacation!)

Wine I managed to spill all over my bed... klutz!

The line in the sand...
View!
That tiny spec in the middle is Aunt Joan swinging. Aren't the grounds beautiful??
Aunt Karen sunning
Riding bikes
Aunt Karen trying to keep up...

A little rum and coke on the way to a shop. Yes, in the car- we're Louisiana girls!!

Shopping results (some of them) LSU wine glass and fun new ring
Hot Mama BFFS!
Aunt Karen and her favorite niece!
Grand Hotel made of gingerbread
Aunt Joan and her stuffed red fish
Twice stuffed potato that strongly resembles a cupcake - FREAKING YUM!!!
Aunt Karen and her "Grand Margarita"
My amazing new ring, which AC needs to take me on a date so I can wear again
80 year old couple Mama and Aunt Karen cut in on so they could learn to jitter-bug

Our weekend was amazing. We had a complete blast and lived it up. The time with Mama and my aunts make me so thankful for the friends I have and I am looking forward to future trips with my BFFS so we can relive all of our antics.

Girls, in 30 years... it's ON!

Playing with and keeping up with my nephew and niece take up a lot of my time. Van Geaux takes up the rest of it. Work is an afterthought most days! I like to be outside- but not when it's too hot. I get bored at my desk all day. Niki keeps my world spinning and without her and AC I'd lose it. My work ethic crashes at 4 p.m. daily and I live my sweet puppy and my hedgehog whenever I am not at Niki's. I truly believe naps are quality pass-time events, and sometimes I say bad words at work. I'm pretty sure I'm insane on multiple levels and I believe rules don't apply to me.
It seems that my life is quite entertaining. I didn't realize this myself, but was informed of it by my friends- who are rather entertained by tales of my life occurrences.

I'm far from a professional writer. These are just stories, comments, and other items for simple amusement. Hopefully it's a fun read, as Shannon plans to edit it into a book one day! Maybe we'll become famous, and maybe we'll just have some good laughs at my expense (and some other characters in my life). Either way, happy reading!
